In this project, we looked at reusing chipboard doors in a simple and free-spirited way. By provocatively showing the material hidden within the doors in its raw form, we want to initiate a discussion about what is ‚ugly‘ and what is ‚beautiful‘; what is seen as ‚rubbish‘ and what can become of it. Instead of focusing only on high-quality surfaces, like many in the industry, we use of the core that is commonly considered unsightly. As a functional part of the design, it becomes the visual highlight of the stool.

We call this MATERIAL PUNK.
